Curiosity needs a caring environment.

A parent manages the family account and learner profiles. Child mode is restricted to that learner’s work. Switching into a child’s space signs the parent out, so returning to parent controls requires signing in again.

The hub does not offer public child profiles, social feeds, direct messaging between learners or advertising.

Guided activities break learning into smaller steps. Children can use hints and supported read-aloud, and ask a trusted adult for help. Independent checks keep answers hidden until the check is complete.

The pilot has not yet completed usability testing with children across every age group. Young learners and practical activities need adult supervision.

Authored lesson help works without AI. Optional conversational tutoring is being developed around the lesson, with bounded questions, input and output screening, and a parent review queue for exchanges that need adult support.

Child AI remains disabled until service-level data handling and safeguarding approvals are verified and a parent separately opts in for each learner. Automated screening cannot detect every unsafe interaction or replace a responsible adult.

When a conversation is identified as needing adult support, the tutor redirects the child to a trusted adult. Flagged questions are withheld from the learning record and the parent queue records that support is needed.

The queue is checked inside the hub. It does not send an emergency alert, and nobody is monitoring it continuously. The service is not an emergency or counselling service.

Professional content review, child usability testing, verified provider data-retention arrangements and an operating safeguarding procedure are required before a wider rollout. The present pilot should be used with a parent actively involved.
